What we verify

Malware and virus scanning

A single infected page can undo years of hard-earned trust. Attackers routinely compromise legitimate websites to spread malware, and most owners only find out when Google flags them or customers complain.

TrustedOrigin scans your site's key pages and files against a database of more than 17 million known viruses, malware, trojans and malicious scripts. If anything is found, you are alerted immediately and the badge is withdrawn until the site is clean again.

What this check covers

Page scanning

Your homepage and key pages are fetched and analysed against the full threat database, covering injected scripts, drive-by downloads and defacement.

File scanning

JavaScript and other files served by your site are scanned separately, because compromised libraries are one of the most common infection routes.

Phishing database checks

Your domain is checked against community phishing databases on every cycle, confirming it has not been reported for impersonation attacks.

Automatic badge removal

If an infection is detected, the badge disappears from your site automatically and returns once our scanner confirms the site is clean. That is what makes it meaningful.

What your visitors see

The verification panel shows a "Virus & Malware Free" certification with the date of the most recent scan and a clean result, alongside the "Certified Secure" summary of all security checks.

Every result carries a date, so visitors can see the check is recent, and if a serious issue is ever found the badge is removed automatically until it is resolved.
